4) PG 580 a row o 6 more 'quiver-ends' , lying slightly higher than - last and just under matting. -Frags o inlay & - 4fold gold bead & gold spacers were all higher up by about 030-090 :- quiver ends lay about 050 from shaft side Clearly these objects quiver ends, which lay a little bit higher than - gold dagger had done, belonged to - same stratum : but all - quiver ends found last year sloped up a bit from - dagger to - shaft side : i.e. - ground where these things were put in was not very level. Even - 6 quiver ends here in a row are not on - same level, one being 015 below - others & slightly further out from - shaft side. - 2 copper bull's feet were found a long way apart & at different levels. - big gold & silver earring came from - upper bead level. In - lower bead level - copper pan like a frying pan, handle broken off, diam 018x022 (oval) depth 004 : also many frags of broken copper vessels

PG/580 This grave was cut by Trial Trench E at the end of one season and excavation was not completed until the following season. It was a time when Woolley was only just recognizing the royal graves as a separate type in the cemetery. The wealth of objects uncovered here led him to suspect it was 'royal' but there were many problems with the condition of the grave and the circumstances of excavation that have led to confusion. After this discovery, Woolley decided to abandon the trial trench method and open the entire cemetery area. He also began to map individual graves. (none)
