The walls (170 high) o - tomb had been and placed on - inside, this being inscribed near - floor, was walls of mud. - walls were straight & - step suggests in a previous note as due to collapsing of the arch in - SW side did not exist, - projecting part of - base being also fallen & both o - NW & SE sides virtually all wall face had disappeared & this may well have been due to a corbelling o - roof out from these walls.

- NE wall was unmistakingly mud -2.90- & in the heart of it were beneath 3 beam holes in - SE side in which the remains of wood were found & there was 1 beam hole in - SE side but also in - the heart o - wall. - Beams were unhinged logs with diam. 014-018 & much could not support the weight o - stone roof over any wide span but in any case there is no evidence that they can [?] over the tomb at all!. They are 090 above the floor level & thus about 080 below - roof surface.

Location Context Title Context Description Description (Modern)
PG/777 A built chamber tomb with a collapsed dome, it had been robbed in antiquity but some artifacts remained along the walls. The collapsed roof of this tomb was first seen in Trial Trench E but the grave was fully excavated after the trial trenches had been opened into a larger area. This led to the discovery of a small trenched area next to the chamber that contained three skeletons, and an approach or dromos that contained another. These Woolley took to be the guards of the tomb in a small 'death pit'. There were two chambers inside the tomb, and the outer held the remains of four more people, possibly servants, while the inner may have held the royal personage. (none)
