Gold
Gold is a metal that is solid in standard conditions, and appears as nuggets or grains, in rocks, veins, and alluvial deposits. It has very high malleability, which means it can be hammered and cast very thin without breaking. It is also resistant to corrosion and its bright yellow color and high luster led to it being in high demand. It can be used as material for stand alone objects like vessels or jewelry, and because of its malleability can also be used to cover objects with a thin sheet of gold.
