Frit
A clay based composition that has been fused in a special oven, quenched to form glass, then granulated. It is used in compounding enamels and ceramic glazes, also used as a pigment and as a stand alone material in small objects like beads and amulets. By definition, Frit is a sintered polycrystalline unglazed material that is typically colored blue or green. Blue Frit is refered to as Egyptian blue, and Green frit is confined to Egypt.
