Ribbons are strips of precious metals worn in coils around the head.  They are distinguished from fillets because of the multiple wraps around the head, and they do not usually cross the forehead.  Sometimes they are found coiled alongside the body rather than around the head.

Field Notes - the sixth was found beneath it and parallel to it; this one however may have slipped from above. One of the ribbons has a special interest as on its under side it shows the imprint of very fine network. Probably therefore the head was veiled.
