Clay is a stiff, sticky, fine grained earth, mainly consisting of silicates, with traces of metal oxides and/or organic matter.  It is typically yellow, red, or bluish-gray in color and often forms an impermeable layer in the soil.  It is most known for its plasticity when wet, and can be used to form many objects.

Very fine work, bold and yet delicate, perhaps goldsmiths moulds: the female head is best suited to such technique as gold-working. Brought in together and said to have been found together.
