Seals, Stamps, and Sealings

These objects are either used for marking objects, or are reminants of the impressions. These include stamps for bricks, cylinder seals, and seal impressions. They are made of stone terricotta for impressing clay or mud.

Introducing goddess wears high headdress and flounced kaunakes skirt. Attributes: sun, crescent moon. Inscription: Ur-Su-bu-la; dumu I-me-x; wared Ud-KA-BAR-KU.

Behind the votary a palm three which an erect figure apparently grasps in his right hand. This figure wears a long flowing garment. Nannar has a crescent shaped headdress. Attributes: crescent moon.

Also, on either side of the font a male figure one hand upraised as if in ceremony. Below: A seated figure holding up hand towards door of shrine? Behind him a second seated figure holding up food which has been handed him by standing attendant. Behind this seated god a standing attendant facing the door of the shrine hands upraised. All have heads shaven and shorn and sheep skin dresses like figures on top register. c. 3000BC.
